5 things that bring me joy this week
Check the entire “5 things that bring me joy this week” weekly series here.
I shared last week that we were attempting to make some fun plans for the weekend. Fun looks different for everyone, and while there are many things or activities I’d describe as that, spending some time around books is definitely one of them.
We recently found out about this Meetup group and decided to join it this past weekend. The Old Tampa Book Company used to be a gem for book lovers in the heart of downtown Tampa with over 40,000 collectible, rare, used, and out-of-print books. With books for everyone, it was a favorite among locals as well as visitors until it abruptly closed. Now a few people with big hearts are trying to revive it at a different location, however, they need help unpacking and sorting through the mountains of boxes full of books. That’s when the idea of creating a Meetup group came to be, and how we ended up going there. It honestly was so much fun between the excitement of discovering what books are in a box we would open, as well as the fun chats and stories from diverse people! If you’re local, I definitely recommend doing that 😊.
With that said, here is this week’s list of 5 things that bring me joy:
The pile of coffee table, cooking, and some other fun books we “earned” during this event. I can’t wait to dive into the ones about historical Scotland and its clans (pictured above; Fun fact — my husband’s roots are from there), as well as get inspired with recipes, etc.
The occasional but intense thunderstorms we’ve been experiencing as well as the rainbows after.
Scoring amazing deals and finds at J.Crew Factory! New items (including some classics that will be perfect for fall) have just been added to the Clearance section, and you can get them at an extra 50% off with code SALEAWAY.
When you guys make purchases through my links! Whenever you use my links (like the J.Crew ones above) on this website and other places to buy something, I may get a commission at no cost to you, and it truly means the world to me! I’m so grateful for that, and I hope you know that I do my very best to recommend high-quality items I believe in and/or use myself.
Salsa and chips — it’s our go-to and favorite snack!
What’s bringing YOU joy this week?
