July at a glance... What I bought, what we watched, and more
Not that this July looked that interesting, but I thought of recapping it. Read on for TV shows and movies we watched, what I read, interesting things I stumbled upon, and more.
What I wore:
July has been a quiet though busy month for me at home, mostly. The outings we’ve done were mostly for errands, where I wore my older dresses that are no longer available. However, some worth mentioning outfits that I can not have enough of are:
This tiered dress I wore to the book-sorting event we attended.
The version of this dress in white, now sold out. I sized up for it, and am completely in love with the style. Needless to say, that dress is not going anywhere! If you like the style, this dress is pretty similar, and on sale!
This Amazon dress (pictured above, these sunglasses are pretty similar) that has taken the internet by storm for the last two years (fully reviewed in this post). Still not over it, and the more I wear it, the more I love it!
What I shopped for:
Noteworthy buys are
This dress that I had in my cart for a while and forgot (it’s airy, and it has pockets, however, it runs big and is a bit see-through — check this post for my solutions for that).
These flat espadrilles (not suitable for wide feet).
These red wedge espadrilles that I’ve already worn out (seen in the photo above).
These natural wedge espadrilles that have a subtle metallic gold in them. All these shoes are extremely light and comfortable.
A Dalia MacPhee dress that I adore, and sadly, is sold out now. The style is identical to this one (runs true to size!). Check more Dalia MacPhee dresses here… how stunning is this dress?! I might have to get it!
Several styles of this straw belt with a square rattan-looking buckle.
On the shopping topic, have you visited my Shop page, recently? It’s bursting with great finds!
What we watched:
Wrapped up season 4 of Stranger Things — obviously! I’m still upset about the death everyone’s talking about, and am joining the voices asking for the character to be brought back! Pretty please?!
The Thing About Pam. Truly brutal and shocking to believe that it is based on actual events and people. This show left me bitter and upset about the justice system and careless people.
Caught up on Riverdale. It majorly lost its appeal with its ridiculous and “doesn’t make any sense anymore” plot, but since we’ve been watching it from the beginning, we want to see how it ends. With that said, like the actors, we’re ready for it to be over!
Marry Me. This movie felt cringey, even if it has some feel-good moments.
The Hating Game. Pretty good, I recommend it if you haven’t seen it.
The Man Who Knew Too Little. Dare I say… they don’t make them like they used to? Old but we haven’t watched it before and found it very entertaining. Definitely recommend.
Started watching Severance. Surprisingly, I’m looking forward to watching it at the end of the day, in spite of the maddening plot so far, or mystery of it all, I should say… Riveting in a slow-motion kind of way? We’re really enjoying it so far!
What I read and/or listened to:
Unfu*k Yourself by Gary John Bishop. A popular book worth reading or listening to.
The Woman In The Green Dress by Tea Cooper. It started slow, and then it got better. Overall, pretty good.
House of Shadows by Nicola Cornick. It took me by surprise as it started as a historical novel, and jumped to modern times in the next chapter. It makes sense soon after, and while I haven’t made it very far into the book, I can’t wait to read it at the end of the day.
One curious thing I learned
Via The Weather Channel on Twitter: If you have an iPhone, hold down the 0 on the keyboard to get the degree symbol!
Who knew?!
